About Dr. Benton
What led me to be a chiropractor:
I had suffered with asthma and allergies for my entire life, requiring daily medications, weekly allergy shots, and use of an emergency inhaler on a routine basis. Despite all the medical treatment, my asthma and allergies were worsening. I thought traditional medicine was my only option.
My first adjustment happened because of an allergic reaction to eating a shrimp. I didn't realize i was allergic to shellfish and after eating the shrimp I went into anaphylactic shock. I happened to be at a chiropractor's house at the time and the chiropractor was able to stop the reaction with an adjustment! As you can imagine I was amazed, if one adjustment could stop an allergic reaction what else could chiropractic do? That's when I started going to the chiropractor for weekly adjustments. After six months I was able to get off all of my medications and manage both my asthma and allergies with diet and chiropractic care. I am a firm believer that routine chiropractic care can help you achieve a healthy, active and drug free lifestyle.
I earned my Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker University in Dallas, TX in 1999. I started Suncoast Chiropractic in 2000 and have been treating patients for over twenty years.

About Dr. Malick:
I always wanted to go into a field where I could help people, and when I graduated from Florida State University in 2005 with a biology degree, I thought I was going to be a medical doctor. It wasn’t until I met my future uncle-in-law, a chiropractor, that I was introduced to chiropractic and the amazing healing ability that is in all of us. Once I started getting adjusted regularly, I noticed that I could move and breathe more easily, and that my lifelong seasonal allergies were almost completely gone. Learning about chiropractic and experiencing its benefits firsthand helped me to realize that this is the work I was born to do.
I quit my job in finance and entered New York Chiropractic College. When I graduated in 2012, my wife Alex and I decided to move back to my hometown of Toronto, where I established a wellness family chiropractic center with a focus on pregnancy and pediatrics. Imagine preventing your kids from having the same problems that you are experiencing today. All three of my children -- Everett, Ian, and Savannah -- have been adjusted since birth and aren’t just surviving but thriving.
We have now happily made the move back to Florida, my wife’s home state. I look forward to making Port Charlotte my home and serving this amazing community. Having played a lot of sports growing up, I like to move and stay as active as possible, so you will often find me running or biking around town.
