About Dr. Benton

What led me to be a chiropractor:

I had suffered with asthma and allergies for my entire life, requiring daily medications, weekly allergy shots, and use of an emergency inhaler on a routine basis. Despite all the medical treatment, my asthma and allergies were worsening. I thought traditional medicine was my only option.

My first adjustment happened because of an allergic reaction to eating a shrimp. I didn't realize i was allergic to shellfish and after eating the shrimp I went into anaphylactic shock. I happened to be at a chiropractor's house at the time and the chiropractor was able to stop the reaction with an adjustment! As you can imagine I was amazed, if one adjustment could stop an allergic reaction what else could chiropractic do? That's when I started going to the chiropractor for weekly adjustments. After six months I was able to get off all of my medications and manage both my asthma and allergies with diet and chiropractic care. I am a firm believer that routine chiropractic care can help you achieve a healthy, active and drug free lifestyle.

I earned my Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker University in Dallas, TX in 1999. I started Suncoast Chiropractic in 2000 and have been treating patients for over twenty years.

I have been married to my wife Carol for 37 years. We have three daughters, Amanda, Sarah, Molly and two grandchildren.
